Gas Hog??

Over the years I have had to scratch my head and wonder what was Sen. Dick Day thinking. Now the Associated Press reported yesterday that State Sen. Day held a new conference at the state capitol to tell of his plans to drive a new 2008 Ford Explorer in parades through out the First District this summer. After looking up what a Ford Explorer gets for gas mileage, it becomes obvious that Senator Day will be doing his part in helping the big oil companies keep raking in those huge profits.

Those were my thoughts exactly when I read the story.

As I recall when candidate Walz criss-crossed the district introducing himself to voters, he had an E-85 vehicle … and had to search for stations that pumped E-85.

The AP story doesn’t tell us the fuel that his new vehicle uses, but considering Dick Day’s love for NASCAR, his choice of vehicle is a direct solicitation to those voters. The only thing that may be missing from a Day’s vehicle and a NASCAR vehicle, is the logos … which will be first on – a NRA or Minuteman ?

Vox Verax had a great news story linking Memorial Day sacrifice with new vehicles.
